Elephant Parade – Web Development

Project Description:

For the fundraising project benefiting African elephants, I developed a comprehensive online platform. The project involved creating a visually engaging landing page to showcase the cause and the elephant statues available for purchase. I implemented forms for both registered and new guests, allowing them to indicate their interest and the number of guests they were paying for. The forms were integrated with a payment calculation feature to determine the total amount owed. Additionally, I set up a feedback form to send personalized messages to registered guests based on their status. Each elephant statue had its own page with detailed descriptions and photos, along with a form for new guests to express interest in purchasing. Following the gala concert, I curated a photo gallery to showcase the event highlights.

Key Learnings:

This project provided invaluable experience in managing complex forms and payment calculations, ensuring a seamless user experience. I learned to effectively integrate design elements from InDesign into web development, enhancing my skills in HTML, CSS, and jQuery. Additionally, I gained insight into managing event-specific content and feedback mechanisms, improving user engagement and interaction. Overall, this project reinforced the importance of creating user-centric designs and efficient workflows to achieve project goals effectively.

Impressions:

This project was especially meaningful to me as I have a deep love for elephants. Being able to contribute to such a wonderful charitable cause was truly fulfilling. The project not only allowed me to showcase my skills but also gave me a sense of purpose knowing that my work was helping to make a difference. I thoroughly enjoyed working on this project and am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of it.
